We revisit the Gevleugeld concert with the Elouise Trio organised by OORT and De Koer together with Klara. This concert took place as part of the Soundroutes II project on 16 May 2021 With the support of Futur 21, the National Lottery, Sabam and Creative Europe, and the support of the city of Ghent, the Flemish Government and Kintpianos.
The Elouise Trio connects a wide spectrum of musical traditions and styles. Arabic elements are fused with Western folk, klezmer and jazz. This alchemist trio approaches transcultural music in a very stubborn way. By merging different musical languages, maqams and rhythms, almost everything this trio brings turns into gold.
Jonas de Rave: piano, accordion, cimbalom
Shalan Alhamwy: violin
Robbe Kieckens: percussion
Gevleugeld is the online concert series where young jazz talent is unleashed on a grand piano for seven consecutive Sundays.
