With Kento, five days of collective writing and production at the Antimafia Pop Academy
From 26 to 30 May 2025, ÀP – Antimafia Pop Academy opens its doors to a new rap writing and production workshop led by Francesco “Kento” Carlo, rapper, writer and activist, in collaboration with A Sud – Ecologia e Cooperazione APS.
Five afternoon sessions (3pm–5pm) to transform words, experiences and political visions into a collective rap song: a journey that intertwines art and activism, designed for those who want to explore hip hop as a language of resistance and justice.
Writing the changing world
The workshop is part of the European project Soundroutes, dedicated to hip hop as a tool for cultural exchange, education and social justice.
Each day will be a journey through collective writing, text analysis, flow exercises and studio recording, starting from themes such as the climate crisis, social inequalities, rights and self-determination.
From reflection to action, from words to sound: participants will work together to create a text that recounts their vision of the present, the injustices that affect their territories and the possibility of building a different future.
From text to microphone
The course will conclude with the recording of a collective rap song and, if possible, the first shots of a video clip, testifying to the power of a shared artistic process.
Not just a music workshop, but a political and creative space where culture becomes an instrument of change.
