After experiences in Ghent, Rome and Chios, Soundroutes arrives in Spain with a new edition of A School Called Tribe – Seville, an intensive workshop where hip hop, rap and graffiti become languages of freedom and collaboration.

Two weekends of training and collective creation – from 20 to 22 December 2024 and from 17 to 19 January 2025 – to bring together young rappers, slam poets and writers in an artistic tribe ready to leave their mark, both inside and outside the walls.

What is A School Called Tribe

A School Called Tribe is an unconventional school: a free space where you learn through encounter, practice and shared creation.

In Seville, the course will focus on the dialogue between music and image, intertwining writing and rapping workshops with graffiti and urban muralism sessions.

Under the guidance of three professional coaches from the hip hop and visual scene, participants will explore:

  • writing and bar structure,
  • freestyle, improvisation and performance,
  • the fundamentals of writing and mural composition,
  • collaborations between voice, rhythm and sign.

The workshop will conclude with a public event: a live performance and a large collective mural in Guadaíra Park, symbolising the connection between sound and urban space.

Dates and structure

📍 Seville, Spain

🕓 20–22 December 2024

🕓 17–19 January 2025

The activities are divided into two intensive modules designed to encourage the participation of students, workers and young local artists.

A workshop for the new creative generation

A School Called Tribe – Seville was created as an intermediate step between the Local Hubs and the international Soundroutes bootcamps.

The aim is to create an inclusive, experimental and accessible environment where artists of different origins and languages can exchange ideas and grow together.

During the workshops, participants will have the opportunity to write, record a song and make a video clip, as well as paint its visual translation on a wall in the city.

“It’s a project that mixes music, art and life. Here you learn to listen, create and share, without boundaries.”

How to participate

The call is open to young rappers, slam poets, producers and writers from the Andalusian scene and beyond.

Participation is free and places are limited.
